Random and not so radom things.

This was a facebook post that I did on March 3, 2009 at 10:24 pm. It was a tag that everyone was doing about random things about themselves.

1. My mother died when I was 8, it was the 2nd week of 3rd grade. My life has not been the same. Since then I have been trying to follow in some of her foot steps and skip over the others.

2. In the past year or so I have been trying to reconnect with my father. At first I was hurt and angry that he wasn't around. Hurt because he didn't think enough of me to want to know me and angry that he didn't teach me things a father teaches his daughter. As I get to know him, I thank God that he was off living his life with out me because his presence would have hurt me more than his absence has.

3. I love bananas. I mean, I loooove bananas AND monkeys. I put bananas in anything I can: pancakes, cake, ice cream, cereal, shakes, puddings, breads, etc. I love bananas and monkeys so much I really think I used to be a monkey in another life. I used to have a stuffed gorilla that i won at Kings Dominion named BoBo, he was so soft. I had to get rid of him when I moved to Florida.

4. I don't think people go to heaven when they die or hell for that matter. I think god assigns them another life and based on how they were in the previous life determines how their present life will be. Life is to complex to know if someone is going to heaven or hell.

5. Based on #4, I guess you can tell I don't follow a religion. I believe that all religions are based off of the stars and imagination. I don't really talk to people about it because religion is such a sensitive subject for people. I don't question what you believe and I didn't ask your opinion on what I believe.

6. About a 7 months ago, there was an owl that hooted all through the night. I like to think that was my mother talking to me. She loved owls.

7. Its scary to watch my sister follow in the steps of my mother that I try to skip over.

8. My father has traveled to Paris, lived in Puerto Rico, jumped off a ship and swam the ocean, been married, been in the army, lived in Florida, flew a plane, owned a business. He has done all this but has never called to wish me happy birthday. I am scared that I will fall in love with a man like my father.

9. I love my nieces and nephews so much. I want so much for them. I want them to always feel loved. Its a bitter sweet feeling being away from them. I want to be there to protect them but staying away protects me.

10. I wish I had gone to see my god mother before she died. she called and called asking me to come see her on my visit home. i just kept thinking that i didnt want to drive on the other side of town. when she died 6 months later i drove for 15 hours through 5 states to say I was sorry.

11. I feel that I am now finding my voice. I have found a career that I am passionate about. I have found a few more good friends and I have reconnected with some good old ones.

12. I want to go to a party and have the dj only play what I want to hear: a lil bit of old school, a lot of 1990s hip hop, a touch of reggae, a splash of soca. Is it too much to ask for the bar to have a smirnoff ice? just once. I know that might be played out but can you have it just for me.

13. I want to go to somebody's carnival, I don't care who or where. I want a costume, I want to be in a parade, I want to wine, I want to play mas. I don't want to sleep for 3 days. I want to party!

14. Caller ID took the fun out of prank calls. That used to be so much fun.

15. My first kiss was at the skating ring when I was 12. His name was Donald. All I remember is he was dark and cute. I wondered what happened to him.

16. I can't wait until the summer. I love the summer.

17. I need to take more pictures. So much of my life has been undocumented and my memory is sketchy at best.

18. Only god has gotten me this far. He/She looks after fools and babies. I am definitely no baby.

19. I used to be teased so much growing up because I was skinny, I mean you could count all of my ribs skinny. Now all you bitches are fat, haha

20. The quickest way to pick my spirits up is to go shopping. I don't even have to buy anything. I get excited when I meet a good sale.

21. I think its hilarious what people choose to call me me. Most people that know me from college call me Ny and other people that know me before college call me Chele. I don't know how that happens because I introduce myself as Nychele.
